Great Eat Spectations
The food Instagram account that almost was! While I never fully launched “Great Eat Spectations,” the work that I put into it represents one of my earliest explorations of connecting my love of graphic design with food.
Branding
To create this type treatment logo, I combined a classy serif font with a clean sans serif font.
I developed templates with food-based shapes and organic framing elements to flow across each graphic.
I also curated a food inspired color palette and incorporated gradients using those colors across my materials.
Intro Carousel
For my initial posts, I created carousel templates, adding shapes to the top and/or bottom of each graphic to generate a flowing transition effect between the images.
This carousel post introduces the account and features a recipe example.
Recipe Carousel
My recipe template contained four pieces — the aesthetic food photography at the beginning, then the recipe’s ingredients list, the cooking instructions, and any extra tips I had noted while making the dish myself.
I designed this template in Adobe Illustrator and then transferred it to Microsoft PowerPoint in a custom size. This would allow me to readily update imagery and copy while maintaining visual consistency throughout my page.
